The Witching Hour Sessions – 07/12/2017
Another trawl tonight through some (maybe) forgotten or passed top quality gems of Irish records. A lot of you might have them but if you haven’t they are worth searching out.
Are there any more lost gems out there that a body should know about? Would love to hear your recommendations.
Tonight’s listening;
1 – Joe Chester – A Murder Of Crows (2005)
Ex TenSpeedRacer and Future Kings Of Spain excellent debut album. It’s an album of regret and resignation but full of sumptuous melodies. A must have record.
2 – Fionn Regan – The End Of History (2006)
Fionn Regan is a mighty folk/roots songwriter and a musician of stealth and strength. His acoustic guitar playing here is simply superb. This record is a sheer delight from start to finish.
3 – Marc Carroll – World On A Wire (2005)
Ex Puppy Love Bomb and The Hormones member Marc Carroll released this piano and string reflective album in 2005. Some of these songs wouldn’t be out of place on a Neil Young or Leonard Cohen album. A Premier League album.
